Welcome to A Navigator's Journey. An experience where the world of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run collides with Waze. Saddle up for a cross-country horse race packed with thrilling stand user battles and unexpected detours, all while uncovering the unique features that make Waze your ultimate co-pilot
OBJECTIVE
Raise awareness of Waze and its unique GPS features.
PROBLEM
Waze has a hard time differintiaing between other popular GPS apps (Apple maps, google maps).
STRATEGY
Have Waze and its features stand out by collaborating with the exciting story of Jojo's Bizzare Adventure: Steel Ball Run.
CONCEPT
Let the experience of A Navigator's Journey show you Waze's unique features.
HOW IT WORKS
Participants will enter a maze to retrieve the stand arrow—a key to unlocking spirit powers—while avoiding enemies. The first team to claim the arrow and exit wins a special SBR-themed avatar or stand in the Waze app.
One team will navigate the maze using Waze, while a second team updates the map with routes and hazards to help the navigators reach the goal.
THE MAZE
Each maze will be held in locations relevant to the story and feature the most recognizable characters from the series.
FUNCTIONS OF THE MAZE
The maze’s interior will feature LED-lined walls, showcasing scenes from specific locations in Steel Ball Run.
When a maze-goer encounters an enemy, the LED screens will display an image an emeny, and their phone screen will turn red, signaling their elimination from the maze.
Maze-goers will use the Waze app on their phones to receive guidance from map guides through voice calls and enemy marker pins.
Map guides can use touchscreen booths (shown below) to guide maze-goers to the stand arrow, drag and drop enemy pins near warnings, and communicate through voice chat.
OUTSIDE OF THE MAZE
While waiting for their turn, participants can watch a spectator screen displaying the current players, along with the locations of players, enemies, and stand arrows in real time, building excitement and anticipation.
